25.09.14 - Public art by Daniels Faculty student Dimitrios Karopoulos installed in Saskatoon

The Daniels Faculty would like to congratulate third year Master of Architecture student Dimitrios Karopoulos and Ryerson University student Adrian Bica. Their entry in the City of Saskatoon’s Placemaker Program was selected to be installed at the main entrance to the University of Saskatchewan at College and University Drive. The installation, titled The Faces, was completed last week and has been well received by local critics and the community.

The Faces is a piece which reminds us to contemplate the concepts of nature and technology in our contemporary environment,” say the artists. “It reminds us that at the very core of our existence is nature.”

This is the second international call for entries to which the duo has applied that resulted in a built commission. Their public art piece, Deep Reflection (pictured below), was installed in Confederation Park in Ottawa as part of the 2013 Winterlude festival.
