About the Library

Designed by Kohn Shnier Architects, the Shore + Moffat Library holds over 35,000 volumes, with a focus on contemporary architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design (20th & 21st centuries). Relevant related collections are available at Robarts, Thomas Fisher Rare Books, the Department of Art, Noranda Earth Sciences, Engineering, and Gerstein libraries. The current and retrospective collections are complemented by the electronic resources available at the University of Toronto Libraries.

The mission of the Shore + Moffat library is to: establish and maintian a research level collection (of both print and electronic resources); offer a full range of information services in support of the Daniels Faculty's rigorous programs of study for the emerging architect, landscape architect, and urban designer; meet the research needs of students and faculty at Daniels; and, function as an information resource and a place of study. The Library also serves as resource for the greater University of Toronto community, students from neighbouring post-secondary institutions, outside researchers, and members from the professional community and the public.
