Sarah Gray, WSP, Toronto: Historical or Hysterical - What's the big fuss about saving old buildings? – B.E.S.T Lecture
-
Faculty Club, 41 Willcocks Street
Old buildings are graceful, functional and downright cool. So how do architects go about transforming an older building into the newest urban hot spot? We'll discuss the various approaches for heritage conservation, including the process and primary considerations for understanding and transforming older buildings. A few case studies will illustrate the simplest repairs, more extensive treatments, and new research that is helping old buildings perform as well or better than new construction.
