The launch of Afterall journal's issue 44 "Ethno-Aesthetics and Institutions" will include a screening of Pia Arke's 1996 video Arktisk hysteri (Arctic Hysteria), followed by a conversation between Director of Visual Studies at the University of Toronto Charles Stankievech and curator Candice Hopkins, both contributing editors to Afterall journal.  The discussion will highlight several threads covered in the last two issues including questions around the global indigenous in light of a resurgence of nationalisms.

This event is a collaboration between Afterall journal and the Daniels Faculty as part of the Master of Visual Studies Proseminar series.
