Artist, Que Rock, from Nipissing First Nation, created this mural in honour of the 215 children found in May 2021 by Tk’əmlúps te Secwépemc First Nations in Kamloops, B.C., and the many more graves that continue to be found across Turtle Island.

The Daniels Mural Project is proud to be part of the 2022 DesignTO Festival. DesignTO is a non-profit arts organization that curates exhibitions, presentations and educational programming to increase the public’s knowledge and appreciation of design and its role in creating a viable, just and joyful world.

This event, created for our DesignTO community, describes the behind the scenes; how this collaborative project was initiated, created, the partnerships formed and its ongoing work. Speakers include:

  • Elder Whabagoon
  • the Artist, Que Rock
  • the Daniels Art Directive
  • the Daniels External Relations & Outreach Office
  • Robin Rice of the Advisory Panel
  • Carolyn Taylor of StreetARToronto; and
  • the installer Curtiss Randolph of Made2Measure.

We will also announce the official new name for the mural and its meaning.
