Join esteemed curator Jamillah James, Manilow Senior Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, for a public lecture at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Hall of the Daniels Building at 1 Spadina Crescent.
Prior to her role in Chicago, James was Senior Curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles and Assistant Curator at the Hammer Museum in L.A. She has also held curatorial positions at the Studio Museum in Harlem and at Queens Museum in New York.
In addition, James has produced exhibitions and programs at various alternative and artist-run spaces throughout the United States and Canada.
She has also contributed to Artforum, Frieze, Art in America, The International Review of African American Art and numerous exhibition catalogues.
James lectures regularly on contemporary art, on curating and on professional development for emerging artists.
