The Globe and Mail published a story on Canada's entry to this year's Venice Biennale, which for the first time in the history of Canada's involvement with the event will focus on the Canadian north. The exhibit, Arctic Adaptations, is being curated by Lateral Office, the firm co-founded by Daniels Faculty Associate Professor Mason White and his partner Lola Sheppard.

"The show brings students from five of Canada’s top architecture schools together with architects working in the North and with various Nunavut organizations. The resulting designs address themes of health, arts, recreation, housing and education," reports The Globe.

The project by University of Toronto students, Anamarija Korolj and Leon Lai, "includes private and public spaces clustered together to cut wind and snow accumulation, with areas that could be used for everything from carving to butchering a caribou."

The Biennale is scheduled to take place in Venice from from June 7 to November 24, and the Arctic Adaptations exhibit is expected to tour Canada in 2015.
