20.07.07 - Rodolphe el-Khoury and Robert Levit finalists in MOCAPE competition, Shenzhen
Faculty members Rodolphe el-Khoury and Robert Levit of Khoury Levit Fong (www.khourylevitfong.com) are the top ranked of four finalists in the MOCAPE – International Museum of Contemporary Art and Architectural Planning Exhibition Competition in Shenzhen, China (www.mocapesz.org). They will be competing against COOP Himmelblau (Austria), ILW Architekten (Germany), and Searle and Waldron (UK) in the second round of this competition.
The competition for the design of an 80,000 square metre museum in the civic centre and cultural district of the city of Shenzhen was juried by Arata Isozaki (Chairman, Japan), Ralph Lerner (Hong Kong & USA), Rocco Yim (Hong Kong), Rainer Pirker (Austria), Wang Shu (China), Meng Yan (China), Christina CHU Kam-leun (Hong Kong), Wang Xiaoming (China, Represent of Municipal Culture Bureau), HUANG Weiwen (China, Represent of Municipal Planning Bureau).
Khoury and Levit and their partner Steven Fong were assisted in the first round of the competition by Talal Rahmeh (MUD 2007) and other recent al&d/University of Toronto graduates including Shan Li (MUD 2007), Raj Patel (MUD 2007) Yusef Frasier (March 2005), Adrian Phiffer (MUD 2007), Luke Stern (March 3), Aziz Dhamani (MUDS 2007).
