28.09.15 - The Toronto Sculpture Garden presents new artwork by An Te Liu as part of Scotiabank Nuit Blanche

Associate Professor An Te Liu's recent artwork titled Solid States (2015) will be a featured exhibit during Nuit Blanche and remain on display in the Toronto Sculpture Garden until December 2015. The project was co-produced by the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art (MOCCA) and The City of Toronto.

Solid States (2015) continues Liu’s practice of creating hybrid sculptural objects evocative of modernist and ethnographic traditions in art and the detritus of consumerism,” writes MOCCA. “Liu’s practice combines these elements, finding the primordial form lurking within domestic artifacts, household electronics and their packaging, the recto/verso as it were of contemporary manufacturing processes.”

The exhibit will be on display from October 3 until December 6 at the Toronto Sculpture Garden  at 115 King Street East, open from 7am to 7pm daily. MOCCA members can attend a VIP preview of the exhibit on October 2nd from 6pm to 8pm at La Maquette restaurant.
