03.12.13 - Architecture hockey team wins second consecutive championship
For the second season in a row the Daniels Faculty architecture team won the University of Toronto hockey intramural championship. The team outscored the Faculty of Dentistry 5-1 to secure the Fall 2013 Intramural Championship title. Architecture won the Winter 2013 Championships the previous season with a 5-3 victory over Law.
The win was a solid team effort with excellent goaltending from third year MArch student Matthew Halladay who made several key saves. In a display of great perseverance, Architecture scored three of their five goals shorthanded. Adam Shaw (MArch 3) led the team with two goals while Misha Franta (MLA 2) and Ricky Papa (MArch alum) each got one goal apiece. Michael Scarborough (MArch Thesis) finished the game off with an empty netter, guaranteeing the win.
The team finished with a record of 7 wins, 0 losses, 0 ties and 1 default. Thanks to all of those who came out to watch the team take the title!
