19.02.08 - Mason White selected for 'World’s Away' exhibition at Walker Art Center, Minneapolis
Professor Mason White is one of 30 architects and artists selected for the exhibition "World’s Away: New Suburban Landscapes," which premieres at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis from February 16–August 17, 2008. Organized by the Walker in association with the Heinz Architectural Center, Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, Worlds Away features projects from FAT, Interboro, INABA/C-Lab, SITE, and Teddy Cruz, among others that challenge commonly held assumptions about the origins, demographic composition, persistence, and sustainability of the suburban landscape.
Lateral Office submitted 6 models and 3 animations that are part of the ongoing design research project called Flatspace. Flatspace reconfigures generic retail corridors in response to emerging landscapes, programs, and infrastructures. Flatspace will now be part of the CMOA’s permanent collection.
Lateral Office’s project team included Neeraj Bhatia, Antoine Morris (MArch II), and Valerie Tam (MArch II).
