05.05.15 - Daniels Instructor Marcin Kedzior appointed Senior Fellow at Massey College

Daniels Faculty Instructor Marcin Kedzior (MArch 2007) was recently appointed a Senior Fellow at Massey College. This honourable title places him among Senior Fellows Professor Emeritus George Baird and Professor Brigitte Shim. Other distinguished Senior Fellows outside of the architecture field include Mikhail Baryshnikov, Margaret Atwood, Michael Ignatieff, Bob Rae, and Adrienne Clarkson.

From the Massey College website:

“Senior Fellows are elected from prominent representatives of both academic and professional interests at the University of Toronto. Senior Fellows are invited to participate in all College activities, as well as Senior Fellow Luncheons and Senior Fellows Dine in Hall evenings held several times each year, and an annual Senior Fellows Gala evening.”

Marcin Kedzior received a BFA with Honours from Queen’s University, a MArch from the University of Toronto, and a SEED certification from Harvard University. His work on Heterotopias was recently featured in MOLE Magazine, PLAT journal, and Dichotomy 19. He is a founding editor of the journal Scapegoat: Architecture | Landscape | Political Economy, which has been exhibited at the Storefront for Art and Architecture, NYC, the CCA in Montreal, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. He teaches in the Master of Visual Studies program and the Architectural Studies program at the University of Toronto; he is a Faculty Associate at Willowbank School of Restoration Arts, and he is a Professor in the School of Applied Technology at Humber ITAL. His interest in critical pedagogy and situated learning practices has led to several collaborations with students such as a tree-house for a co-housing community, art installations, and micro-urbanism projects.
