Member of Provicial Parliament Mitzie Hunter praised the Global Cities Institute (GCI) in a statement in the Provincial Legislature in September. Hunter attended and spoke at the official launch of the GCI earlier in the month.

"Organizations that acknowledge and take advantage of the growing impact of the international community are so important to the growth and our cities and our province," said the Scarborough-Guildwood provincial representative. "The Global Cities Institute seeks to prepare the future of our workforce for the influx of international influence here in Toronto and it is something my constituents as well as the people of Ontario can benefit from."
