The December 2012 issue of Canadian Builders Quarterly features a glowing cover story — and a 23-page-spread — on the Daniels Faculty and the success of its alumni.

The cover story “The Ascension: How the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto is giving the Ivies a run for their money” looks at the history of the faculty, its many successes, and its ambitious goals for the future. The article features interviews with Dean Richard Sommer and Master of Architecture student Dave Freedman.

The stories that follow spotlight five alumni of the faculty, including Bruce Kuwabara of KPMB Architects (who will be giving a public lecture at the Daniels Faculty on January 22), Nelson Kwong of nkArchitect, Monica Adair and Stephen Kopp of Acre Architects, and David Gillett of David Gillett Design. Each of the featured alumni list notable professors they worked with during their studies at the University of Toronto. Faculty receiving acknowledgments include George Baird, Bruce Kuwabara (who also taught at the faculty), Steven Fong, John Shnier, An Te Liu, and the late Jeffrey Stinson.
