14.10.15 - John May and Zeina Koreitem reconsider the relevance of the façade

MILLIØNS, a firm founded by Assistant Professor John May and Lecturer Zeina Koreitem, was recently featured in two exhibitions.

The first exhibition, "BUST", curated by William O'Brien Jr. at Jai & Jai Gallery in Los Angeles, "brings together eleven established architects and firms to reconsider the relevance of a seemingly anachronous means of evaluation for a work of architecture: the façade." Other participating firms include MOS Architects, SO-IL, Bureau Spectacular (founded by Alumni Jimenez Lai), and Pita+Bloom. MILLIØNS contributed a large-scale 3d sand print, entitled "Beirut Rooftop (Section, -90° X-Axis Rotation).

Earlier this fall, from August 14th to September 19th, MILLIØNS contributed their piece "There's No Such Thing as a Computer Drawing" to the group exhibition Measure at the Storefront for Art and Architecture in NYC. Participants included Nader Tehrani/NADAAA, Reiser + Uwemoto, Steven Holl, and Bernard Khoury.

MILLIØNS is a Los Angeles-based experimental architectural practice with projects in California, New York, and Beirut. It’s speculative work has also been exhibited in solo and group shows at the Museum of the City of New York, Material Connexion NYC, and the Keller Architecture Gallery at MIT.
