Graduating Awards

Graduating awards are presented at the Graduation Celebration and Ring Ceremony immediately following Convocation in June.


MASTER OF ARCHITECTURE

The Alpha Rho Chi Medal
Awarded to a student who has shown an ability for leadership, performed willing service for the school and gives promise of real professional merit through his/her attitude and personality.

ARCC / King Medal
Awarded to a student demonstrating innovation, integrity, and scholarship in architectural and/or environmental design research.

George T. Goulstone Fellowship
Awarded to a student to study Georgian architecture in England; application required*.

The Heather M. Reisman Gold Medal in Design
Awarded to a student in recognition of exceptional achievement in design in architecture, landscape architecture, or urban design.

AIA Henry Adams Medal and Certificate Program
Awarded to the top ranking student Certificate of Merit to the second ranking student.  

The Irving Grossman Prize
Awarded on the basis of excellence and innovation in the final design thesis in the area of multiple-unit housing or adaptive re-use of buildings for housing purposes; and on the basis of professional promise in one or both of these areas.

The Kuwabara-Jackman Architecture Thesis Gold Medal
Awarded to the student judged by the Faculty to have completed the most outstanding MArch thesis of the year.

Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) Honour Roll Program Awarded to four students from the top 10% of the graduating class.  

Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) Medal
Awarded to the student who has achieved the highest level of academic excellence and/or has completed the outstanding final design project / thesis for that academic year.

Toronto Architectural Guild Medal
Awarded to a member of the graduating class showing outstanding ability.

Toronto Society of Architects Scholarship
Awarded to a student whose thesis project demonstrates an innovative approach to city building and urban form.


MASTER OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE

American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Certificate of Honour and Certificate of Merit
Awarded to a student that must be truly outstanding and have demonstrated the highest level of academic scholarship and of accomplishments in skills related to the art and technology of landscape architecture.

Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA) Certificate of Merit
Awarded to a student in the graduating class who, while maintaining a distinguished academic record and contributing actively to the life of the school, demonstrates outstanding imagination, innovation and ingenuity in extending and developing the field of landscape architecture.  

The Heather M. Reisman Gold Medal in Design
Awarded to a student in recognition of exceptional achievement in design in architecture, landscape architecture, or urban design.

Ontario Association of Landscape Architects' (OALA) Certificate of Merit
Awarded on the basis of academic excellence and contribution to the program.

MASTER OF URBAN DESIGN

The Heather M. Reisman Gold Medal in Design
Awarded to a student in recognition of exceptional achievement in design in architecture, landscape architecture, or urban design.

Toronto Society of Architects Scholarship
Awarded to a student whose thesis project demonstrates an innovative approach to city building and urban form.
