Next Steps

Follow the 8 A’s to kick start your Daniels journey!

1. Accept your offer

  • If you have not already done so, please follow the instructions included in your admission package on your Join U of T Portal to accept your offer of admission by the stated deadline.
  • Want to take a gap year? Request a deferral by September 15, 2024. Deferral requests will be reviewed starting in July 2024.

2. Apply for residence

3. Access your courses

  • Over the coming weeks you should take some time to familiarize yourself with U of T’s online registration and records system: ACORN (also called the “Student Web Service”). All course enrollment takes place online.
  • Course enrollment for first year students will begin on July 18, 2024. All new Daniels students will be automatically enrolled into their mandatory first-year courses. More information on course enrollment will be provided at the Academic Orientation in July 2024.
  • The Fall/Winter 2024-25 Timetable and Academic Calendar will provide further course details including course days and times, delivery methods, and instructions, and assigned Instructors. All courses to be delivered in-person.

  • July 26, 2024: Faculty of Arts & Science course selection open for Daniels students. Information about FAS programs of study, deadline dates, and enrolment information can be found on the FAS Academics & Registration page here. You should wait until you have your confirmed Daniels timetable before trying to add any electives as you have to make sure that there is space on the days & times that the elective is scheduled. Once you have your timetable, then go ahead and try and add the elective and do not wait too long in case the course becomes ‘sold-out’.
  • Transfer students admitted into second year will begin course enrollment July 15, 2024. Transfer students admitted into third year will begin course enrollment July 10, 2024.
  • Students transferring from another post-secondary institution must apply for transfer credits. The deadline is June 1, 2024. If you are admitted to the Daniels Faculty from the Faculty of Arts & Science (FAS), the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM), or the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC), you do not have to apply or pay for a transfer credit assessment. All of your courses and grades will be incorporated into your academic record in Daniels. More information about transfer credits is available on our website here.
  • Fall classes will begin on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

4. Assess your finances

  • Take the time to plan out all your expenses and set a budget to ensure that you have adequate funding available for the upcoming year.
  • For information on how to finance your studies at the Daniels Faculty, click here.
  • Review the Daniels undergraduate awards that you may be eligible for upon admission, while you are at Daniels, and upon graduation. Most of these awards do not require applications. If there are any awards that require applications, a call for applications will be sent via email.
  • The deadline to pay your academic fees is August 27, 2024 and you will be able to view details regarding your fees on ACORN in mid-July. Fee deferral requests are also made through ACORN by this date. Please note that if the fee is not paid in full by the deadline, monthly service charge fees will be billed on your ACORN invoice on the 15th of every month at a monthly rate of 1.5% compounded (19.56% per annum) until paid in full.
