Winter 2024
Have you seen yourself lately? Architecture and Urban Design are active participants in shaping the culture and identity of the built environment. Toronto is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. However, there are lost narratives of Indigenous and underrepresented population groups that we have the opportunity to bring light and awareness to through placemaking.
This critical agenda, will be enhanced through critical research and creative placemaking interventions at various scales (urban, neighbourhood, infrastructure and public art). Students will be guided through projects that engage with the community and action towards proposing tangible and intangible interventions that celebrate the unseen.
A final exhibition of the projects will conclude the semester.
