Design Studio 3 – ARC313

This is the third architecture studio in the architectural studies program.  The studio focuses on housing with a two-fold ambition; on one hand, it will try to expose students to a range of precedent housing projects and will ask them to read, review, and engage with the canonical works of architecture; and on the other, it will try to allow them to gain skills in methods, techniques, and challenges embedded in the design process, from part to whole relationships within a housing block, to proper techniques and modes of representation in architecture.  In this studio, the housing projects in the history of architecture becomes a vehicle to expose students to a range of themes, methods, and techniques that have been at the core of the architecture design.
