Design Studio 3 – ARC313

The course aims to expose students to the impacts and potentials of collective housing design. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the ways in which architectural forms and arrangements impact social forms and arrangements. Students will become familiar with the importance of typology and the potentials of unit and building design through an in depth study of key precedents and texts. Student designs and proposals will be asked to question how spatial arrangements, tectonics, and material assemblies relate to forms of social arrangement.
