Click Space

Although plotters, laser cutters, CNC mills and 3D printers are a familiar part of most design practices today we rarely see what happens behind the scenes when we click ‘print’. “Click Space” investigates the background CAM and CNC processes which transform virtual drawings and models into physical artifacts. With improvised machine assemblies and software, this project explores analytical and recombinant design possibilities which are created by intervening in this translation process. Shown here in a state of incompleteness, “Click Space” contains suspiciously superficial drawings but also room to grow in various directions.
