Re-think the scale: An Investigation of Methodologies to Test and Refine Planning decisions

What is the limitation of planning? How can an investigation at the scale of a site help refine larger planning decisions? This thesis project researches methodologies used to test and refine planning decisions in the context of globalization. It points to the danger of and miss-opportunities inherent in generalized planning decisions.

This project chooses the 2013 Greater New Orleans Urban Water Plan as a test site, focusing on the Hollygrove District. Through a site-scale investigation, the project re-imagines a new landscape framework that forges a better water culture, promotes future development, and welcomes residents to return and stay.
