MUD Thesis
Vertical Public Spaces
As downtown Toronto continues its rapid growth in the form of super-tall towers, it is inevitable that opportunities for open spaces will be harder and harder to come by. Creation of such important open spaces will have to emerge on multiple levels. This thesis proposes a new urban pattern for high-density development based on a network of vertically distributed and interconnected open spaces through the redesign of a recently approved mixed-use project in downtown Toronto.
