Celebrating the publication of Alphabet City's newest publication, the TRASH Festival opens Thursday October 5, 6pm at the Drake with a conversation between Pierre Bélanger (AL&D) and Lisa Rochon (The Globe & Mail), and the TRASH anthology launches at MOCCA that night at 7 pm. Don't miss the mayoral debate for this November's election on October 28th, with David Miller and Jane Pitfield debating their ecological visions for the city, in the foreground of Bélanger's supersized digital projections Toronto's landfill site in Michigan at the MaRS Discovery District Collaboration Centre.

Congratulations to Mehran Madani (MLA ’04), who has received an award for research in his Master of Landscape Architecture thesis from the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). Madani’s MLA thesis was advised by Prof. John Danahy. Danahy will be in attendance this Fall at the ASLA Awards Ceremony in Minneapolis to receive an individual award for his role as faculty advisor and an award on behalf of the MLA Program. Madani’s thesis was reviewed as part of a longstanding awards program inviting submissions from each school of landscape architecture in North America.
